Title from engraved title page. Vols. 1-13 have an additional letterpress title page "The works of the British poets. With prefaces, biographical and critical, by Robert Anderson, M.D." dated 1795. With imprint: "London: printed for John & Arthur Arch; and for Bell & Bradfute; and J. Mundell, & Co. Edinburgh." A variant vol. 11 has this additional title page dated 1794.
The works of the individual poets in vols.1-11 also have their own title pages dated 1792 to 1795, with imprint: "Edinburgh: Printed by Mundell and Son" but pagination and signatures within each volume are continuous. The works of the individual poets in vols.12-13 have half-titles.
